Tips and limits
- Songs can be up to 400 bars long, with any number of tempo changes (40 to 240 BPM, to 0.01 BPM) and time signatures. The shortest loop is a 16th note.
- For EDM, set Swing to 0% (new blank projects start at 20%). Dubstep is usually 140 BPM with the snare on beat 3 (half-time), house around 124 to 128, drum & bass around 174.
- A project saved in this version may not open in an older copy of Fledgetone (such as a one-file copy saved earlier): open it at fledgetone.com instead.
- Recorded instruments need an internet connection the first time you use them; then they work offline (see Working offline).
- Muted tracks, and tracks silenced by another track's Solo, don't play their notes at all, which saves processing power on big songs.
- If playback stutters on a big song, freeze the tracks you aren't changing (the snowflake in each track's header), switch Playback to Stable in the Inspector's Master tab, mute tracks you aren't working on, or switch off effects you don't need. Exporting never stutters, it just takes longer.
- Sounds you load are kept in this browser; a private window may not allow it. Save the project to keep its sounds safe.
